Flood Plains
If you donate today, your money shall be used to purchase the floodplain forests as refuges, invest into education for realizing the interconnectedness of rivers and wetlands, invest in cleaning up the wetlands, and invest in organizations and agencies that protect wetlands. Your money will also be invested into managing the quantity, timing, and quality of water flows below a dam, with the goal of sustaining freshwater and estuarine ecosystems and the human livelihoods that depend on them. We also hope that regulations will be passed on development as well.
Beach Dunes
The beach dunes of North Carolina’s Coastal Plains really need your help to prevent erosion to save an important habitat to many endangered or threatened nesting birds, turtles and mammals. These dunes also protect coastal infrastructure from rising sea levels, ocean waves and flooding.The money you donate will be used to create lasting preservation of North Carolina’s beach dunes through education, renourishment, stabilization projects, maintenance efforts and conservation resources. Donors and the public will be able to enjoy the many benefits of the dunes as a better future is rebuilt with your contributions.
